ShoesDay Tuesday – Shoe Thrift Shopping In The Heart Of Lagos.

ShoesDay Tuesday – Shoe Thrift Shopping In The Heart Of Lagos.

Addicted to my Instagram timeline as always, I came across some posts from my friend and ex school mate, Nimide. Remember when she was shoespiration?. Nimide has an amazing taste for shoes, at least my kind of amazing. She could easily shop shoes for me and I’d have not a single complaint. We met up in Lagos during my last visit and talked about shoes (Of Course). Then she told me about a place I had heard of in the past called VESPA. It’s a thrift market for shoes. And this right here is why I love Nimide. Not everyone earns in 7 figures and not everyone can afford to spend 70% of their pay on shoes just to keep up. Being the queen of “stay in your lane” and “face your reality”, I was more than curious to find out more from her about the market and how it works. The plan was to go there together but distance would not let me be great. I thought it’d be really unfair to hoard this great find from you guys. With all these buys by Nimide, I don’t even need to go there to know it’s the place to be. So if you are a shoe lover or have a shoe fetish but can’t afford all the luxury brands or deal with the exchange rate and don’t have the opportunity to go abroad to shop first hand, this post is for you. You would rock your Vespa shoes and no one will ever be able to tell where and how you got them except you tell. After stalking Nims...
Diary Of A Shoe Lover- S2 E5- Taking The Plunge, Fears Faith and All

Diary Of A Shoe Lover- S2 E5- Taking The Plunge, Fears Faith and All

Read Episode 4 “You know, I’m worried about Ai” I said to Hakeem as I sipped on my mint tea at my parents breakfast table. It was my Dad’s birthday and we had all gathered for breakfast after attending the early morning service at his church earlier. We were waiting for my brother and his family who weren’t able to join us for the service. My Sis in law Moji always looked stunning and I was eager to see what the days theme would be. “What’s the situation with her and her new guy?” Hakeem asked in reply. “Well, I know she likes him but it’s this her fear of commitment that is a bother. For how long will she live in fear?” I answered, genuinely worried about her. I’ve known Aisha for donkey years. She is a beautiful woman with a heart of gold. As tough as she appeared to be on the outside, on the inside, she was just a little girl looking to be loved. I can’t really blame her for her fears, she’s had many unpleasant experiences in life. She met him while she was on course in Canada after the incident with Khameel, Ahmed’s late father. Timehin, an Itsekiri man from Delta state was one of the calmest guys I had ever met. I remember the first day she introduced us and I kept thinking how soft spoken and polite and well behaved he was. For me, he checked all the required boxes to qualify as husband material, but my friends thought I was being too quick to accept him. Something in my spirit...
SHOESPIRATION: Palesa Mahlaba Does High Street Brands Well

SHOESPIRATION: Palesa Mahlaba Does High Street Brands Well

When you go through a handle’s 1500 plus posts in one sitting, then you know you’re a certified stalker… But it’s shoes , so I shamelessly claim the title. And that’s what I spent some part of the day doing, stalking Palesa Mahlaba’s Instagram page. Since I was tagged on one of her posts, I became a firm believer. Apart from her stunning shots, I love the fact that she does a lot of high street brands. From Zara to Topshop, Aldo, Dune and other brands, she’s relatable to the majority of us counting our shoe allowances in tens of thousands… Palesa is a South African fashion blogger, a former magazine editor and a business woman. With Instagram handle @simplypalesa, there’s nothing simple about her footwear choices but let’s just say she’s being modest. And more shots… Who’s going to share my title with me, get to stalking guys and thank me later. She tags all her shoe brands in her posts, so you know where to check if you see anything you like… Peace, love and more shoes Xoxo...
Shoespiration: From Little Orphan Girl To A Closet Full Of Luxury Pieces…#OnBecoming Toke Makinwa

Shoespiration: From Little Orphan Girl To A Closet Full Of Luxury Pieces…#OnBecoming Toke Makinwa

I’ve liked Toke from a distance, I would open any article that had her name in the header and completely forget about her till the next article. Then came her book and I fell in love with her. Not because of the dirt she spilled( well part of it, who doesn’t like gossip straight from the source) but because I saw her in her elements. Beneath the ‘in your face’ Toke was a scared, scarred and insecure little girl and she wasn’t afraid to show that to us all. The fact that she was able to bare all her insecurities, weaknesses, own up to her shame and make some more money from it to add more items to her already bursting closet of luxury pieces. Talk about making lemonade out of lemons. Her shoe game has gone many notches up in the past 2years and looks like she’s not planning to slow down soon. From all the luxury names you can think of, her choices are absolutely fabulous and that is why I’m here today! She’s been going on tours for her book and I’ve followed every bit of it just to get a glimpse of every outfit… I really can’t wait to get in her closet. But till then, here are some of her looks and footcandy in the past few months. I hear some people think her book OnBecoming Toke Makinwa is quite unbecoming of Toke and they are discussing lawyers and possible court cases. All I see is more footwear choices and a head held high. Slay on Toke, more chilled glasses of lemonade… Peace ,...

Shoespiration: Thank You Michelle Obama #FLOTUS

From conquering major world problems to being on Ellen Degenerees show to showing us how to love the men in our lives and in turn the world or being mummy to Malia and Sasha, Michelle Obama made a statement with her shoes. She was a conservative First Lady and didn’t adorn the most glamorous footwear. Being a shoe size 11.5 didn’t help much too, but she always made a statement.  We can safely credit the comeback of the kitten heels to her which she rocked so effortlessly.  Jimmy Choo being her preferred footwear label, she is also known to have worn highstreet brands like H n M.  From tailored suits to dresses and jeans, she had just the right pair to suit her style and her long endless legs… Thank you Michelle Obama for showing us what womanhood should really look like. #FLOTUS Peace, love and be powerful Xoxo,...
