Outside My Obsession With Shoes, These Are My Other Favorite Things!!!

Outside My Obsession With Shoes, These Are My Other Favorite Things!!!

I have been accused of being selfish on the blog because all i talk about is shoes… but that’s what happens when you’re obsessed…Lol! So today, i’d shift my focus away from shoes for a minute. If you’ve wondered what else it is that gets my attention outside shoes, then they’d be…   Dresses – I like that they are a one piece and very feminine, i have a few favorite styles for my body type and would fill my future closet with 70% dresses. Jeans Trousers – Bring them on in anyway, as long as they have a good fit, i’m in. Sunglasses – I like them really dramatic and detailed.. Bags – Classic handbags are my favorite, i would invest in classic ones but won’t necessarily go over board. In that particular order, every other thing considered a fashion accessory is not exactly so important as long as i have a decent amount of them as i need them. Anyway, today will be dedicated to BAGS. 70% of the non shoe lovers i have met are obsessed with their bags, 85% of the shoe lovers i have met have bags as their second obsession. I won’t really go out of my way to ogle bags (save for these days when i’m styling a client), but i can’t deny they are a real fashion statement. For the purpose of this post, i have come up with a collection of bags from luxury brands that will legit make my wish list (Here’s hoping Santa is reading this post). Luxury hand bags are an investment piece, i mean the fact that...
Diary Of A Shoe Lover – Episode 4 – Tough Decision

Diary Of A Shoe Lover – Episode 4 – Tough Decision

Episode 3 Here Dear Diary, “The work load is out of this world, i barely get 5 hours of sleep now. I get home really late and come back with work. It’s really doing my head in. And as i’m getting really committed to this fitfam life, i have to wake up early to put in my 30 minutes of work out. It’s been crazy to be honest. I haven’t even been able to do much for Sister Moji as per the anniversary, i’m she understands. My outfit for that one sef, i still can’t settle for something and it’s in 3 days. I was at Sole Divas 2 days ago, hoping to get gold shoes for the fringe dress. I’d love to wear the skirt tho, but i’m not so sure i’m that comfortable with my stomach yet. It’s barely 2 weeks i signed up with April, and even though i can say i feel changes, i’m not so confident to put it out there. Anyway, back to Sole Divas, i don’t know if it’s the stress from work, but i went on a shoe binge. Gosh, all the Kurt Geiger pairs i had been eyeing were up for sale at up to 60% off , i bought 12 pairs. Sue me, i call it retail therapy. And yes it felt good. Judge me not. As i don’t have a lover to whisper sweet nonsense to me, won’t i make myself happy?. Meanwhile, Aisha sent me a message, i haven’t replied her, let me get to it, it sounded quite urgent.” I read through Aisha’s message again, it sounded quite unlike her,...

#WCW- Trendy Curvy Chics

Shout out to all the thick ladies out there. If you rock your size 16 and over bodies with pride, kudos to you. And if you’re not comfortable in your body but wish to get your styling right, this post is for you… The first thing you’re going to need to acquire is Self confidence. If you look in the mirror and hate all the flabs and folds that make your outfits look a mess, then you need to take the decision to make a change. It all starts in your mind, quit wallowing in self pity and start making small changes everyday. And while you’re on the journey, love , love , love and love yourself some more. Phew!!! I can relate to the struggle of not getting beautiful clothes in your size but that is never a reason not to look good. There’s always something for everyone, you only need to find what works for you even with shoes. I’m crushing on Plus size Los Angeles fashion blogger – Kristine of Trendy Curvy Chic. She knows her body and makes it a point of duty to dress that body right. You should go to her blog if you need tips. I am just getting a hang of what suits me myself and i must confess her blog did a lot in opening me up to style tricks that i didn’t know about. Here’s a few of the many things I learned. Confidence is key. Get the right underwear from bras to spanx in the right sizes. Spanx are meant to hide cellulites and smoothen you out in your...

#WomanCrushWednesday – Carrie Bradshaw

The story of my love and passion for shoes and everything related will not be complete without the worthy mention of the influence of Carrie Bradshaw who played the lead role in the series “SEX AND THE CITY”. First, I still think it should have been titled “SHOES AND THE CITY”. I can go on and on about my undying love for Carrie, her love for love, shoes, fashion and life. I can even start a mini series on her life in the HBO show. Today, I don’t know who I’m crushing on, the character Carrie Bradshaw or the person behind the character Sarah Jessica Parker. Either way, I love them (her) yesterday, today and forever. CARRIE BRADSHAW Her passion for shoes is raw, exciting, euphoric, like she applies it to real life and practically every situation she goes through from not having house rent to a break up to being single and then back to being in love. She is the ultimate shoe lover. Let me take you back in time to some of my favorite screen shots, quotes and moments from the 90’s sitcom that informed and changed my obsession for footwear forever. Moments: Screen Shots: From Proenza Schouler to Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, Guiseppe Zanotti, J.Crew, Christian Dior, Vivienne Westwood, Yves Saint Laurent, Pierre Hardy, Rene Caovilla, Charlotte Olympia, Brian Atwood, Charles Jourdan, Feragamo, Jimmy Choo, Valentino, Gianvito Rossi to Sigerson Morrison… All the gods of luxury footwear featured through all the seasons and the 2movies. Of course Blahnik took center stage and this is exactly where my love for him and Christian Louboutin was born. Who else to...
