In Her Closet – Episode 12 – It’s the “BADDEST” OAP – Gbemi Olateru Olagbegi

From the mid day Oasis on 96.9 Cool FM to the Drive time show on Beats 99.9 FM, Radio host, Gbemi Olateru Olagbegi has made her mark in the broadcasting industry. The CEO of Speakerboxx productions, she’s a media consultant and Event MC among other things media related. Apart from her interactive and interesting radio moments, I was drawn to the fact that she is a shoe lover. I remember driving home from work and listening to her show, she would almost always make a reference to shoes. Following her on social media made her love for shoes even more obvious. It was hardly any surprise when I heard that she had launched her own line of shoes, the “GBEMISOKE SHOES”. I was eager to have her featured as soon as this idea dropped and I’m so glad she obliged me the feature. A few Emails later and quite a number of subtle reminders, I got her responses from the E-Interview questions. Let’s get straight to it. E-Interview With On Air Personality, Gbemi Olateru Olagbegi JAY: I have known you virtually for about 7 years and to say you are a shoe lover would be an understatement, what is it about shoes  that get you excited? GBEMI: I can’t explain it, I’ve always loved shoes . I was a very particular child and my mom would get tired when she would take me shopping . When I was old enough to shop on my own, I would spend hours looking for beautiful shoes.    JAY:  The Gbemisoke Mules were an instant hit, almost more in demand than the pumps and we’re also expecting...

In Her Closet – Episode 11 – Style By Yummie

First time I heard anything about Yummie was on “Wardrobe Diaries”, a TV show that features fashion forward people. Watching the interview, the first thing that struck me was her unconventional, eccentric style. You know those people that only them can own their style? Yes, she’s one of those people. Then I got to know she’s a stylist and off I was to Instagram to see more on her page. I was taken. The job of a good stylist is one I respect a lot. It’s one thing to be able to put pieces together. But putting pieces together to fit a personality and the occasion perfectly is another ball game entirely. And when your clients keep coming back, then you are a winner. Yummie Ogbebor is Stylist to Rita Dominic, Stephanie Linus, Michelle Dede, Waje to mention a few and you can tell she knows her business a 100%. From music video sets to red carpet events to magazine covers and movie premieres, she’s been involved with many entertainment A-listers. She recently styled Jidenna in Ankara on his last visit to Nigeria for his Thisday Style Magazine Feature.   I didn’t relent on my E-mails to get her on here as I really wanted to know more about her personal take on shoes and she was so sweet despite her schedule. Let’s get straight to the interview. E-Interview with Yummie JAY: What’s your favorite personal style of shoes, one that is most dominant in your closet.  YUMMIE: Hmm… dominant favorite shoes, that’s a tough one, as I am a shoe lover and have variety of styles, but, the common denominator is COMFORT. The older...
