On The Radar…Footwear Designers

This post is inspired by an Instagram post i saw yesterday. It was of the Dolce and Gabanna Spring 2017 Fringe Sandals. I found them really fun and realized they were still trending since 2015 that they became a hit. [caption width="501" id="attachment_7025" align="aligncenter"]FullSizeRender (89) As seen on Instagram[/caption] [caption width="510" id="attachment_7018" align="aligncenter"]11933907-Black-7c05d2dc- Spring 2017 Fringe pumps[/caption] [caption width="500" id="attachment_7019" align="aligncenter"]11933907-Black-d43a7583- D & G[/caption]They are an absolutely fun way to make a statement with your shoes. You can't but get noticed with a pair like these. Many other brands have had their designs, some keeping it simple, others going wild with it.

I know I've never really paid attention to men's shoes since I started this blog and that is mostly because I don't know so much about the rules that govern styling them. I see the ones I like, I admire and I move on. My hubby is a sneaker head, 4 out of every 5 of his shoes are a pair of sneakers so i'm more inclined to them. [caption id="attachment_6988" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Lace up Sneakers[/caption] But today, I won't be talking female fashion, I'd be sharing some of the most popular male shoe styles. This should help if you're looking to get your significant other, dad, boss or brother footwear. See Also: Sneaker Heads

I'm the biggest advocate for non-boring, non-conformist work shoes. I also believe that shoes should generally be sturdy and of good quality but not necessarily overly expensive. Irony? Coming from me who spends hours ogling luxury shoes, but when it comes down to budgeting, i go all out to get good bargains. You should read this post Anyway, from the Office, Paper doll, Little mistress, Miss KG, Carvela Kurt Geigernand Nine West brands, are some of the prettiest, very durable and affordable work shoes. They cost between £9 - £30 which going by the current exchange rate amount to about N6,000 - N20,000. Many of them are on sales which means fastest fingers first for the very popular sizes. This happened recently Take a look.

Episode 8 Here

Dear diary,

Is this what being in love truly feels like or am I just being overly emotional?.. I can't even put my thoughts and feelings into writing, I'd be back later... Good night!!!

Less than a week to my birthday and none of my friends was back in town. And no, they wouldn't be making it down in time... I felt so empty and lonely. Ivie had sent me an early birthday present through one of her cousins. As much as I loved my new season Gucci princeton slippers, they could not fill the void I felt knowing i would be spending my birthday alone. A sudden fear gripped me at the thought of being alone forever.. I literally panicked. "Shally too cute, abi what's that your Whatsapp name?" My mum cut into my thoughts as she joined me on the dining table where I was having dinner.

In between changing diapers and sterilizing feeding bottles in addition to two toddlers and a husband, it's been a slow past couple of days here on the blog. Yesterday was International Women's Day and i had started drafting this post in my head but it never made it out of there. If idol worshiping wasn't a sin, women all over should be idolized. With the many hats we have to wear, it's amazing to see those who are achieving and breaking boundaries beyond the norm. This post is in recognition of successful women who in the midst of the chaos that comes with their career and family life also make it a point of duty to give back to society. The next big deal for me is their love for shoes which made them release their own collections/designs, some alone and others in collaboration with popular footwear designers.

Episode 7 here Dear Diary, I can't get over the lunch date i had today. This mumu Gbenga must really think highly of himself o. Very shallow thinker as well. I don't know how i managed 45 minutes with him and didn't hit his head with the bottle of red wine on the table. Imagine him saying no matter how accomplished a woman is, she must take her place in life as the second class citizen she is...

From tax evasion accusations to controversial ad campaigns, the duo of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have one thing in common, overflowing creative juices!! Thinking of what brand to spotlight this morning, as I didn't have any prepared post, I came across a pair of D & G sandals and I was totally smitten. Looking further at the pieces that were on retail, going from page to page, I couldn't stop. How did I miss the 2017 Spring/Summer collection in the first place? Not to bore you any further with how detailed and heart pumping the collection is, take a look at all the gorgeousness that is Dolce & Gabbana in Shoes, bags and clothes from the 2017 collection and a few old ones.

Episode 6 Here

Dear Diary,

"These days, the new school say marriage is over rated and should not be high on anybody's priority list or be a do or die affair. As much as I quite agree with that thought with reason, I say marriage can be a beautiful thing and I desire to get married....*sigh* From Benin to Dubai, Ivie's nuptials were absolutely beautiful. Pure, true and natural, you could see the connection between her and Eddy. They've had their fair share of issues, Ai and I have had to intervene a few times in the past, but isn't that what they say makes a solid foundation? I'm wondering if i may have found my happily ever after, but only time will tell. Anyway, party is over, time to continue life where I stopped...Good night Diary..."

I don't know if it's the Bulls head we both share as Taurean women or just sheer admiration for being driven by her passion, but my love for Bukky Karibi Whyte, founder of the Bobby Taylor Company has grown since 2013 when she was a judge on the Mo's search TV program on Ebony Life TV. From luxury and lifestyle to the corporate sector and then music and entertainment, she has been able to bridge the gap between her clients and their targeted audience with her expertise, making her the no 1 go to girl in the world of Public Relations.

I love Amina Muaddi, simple. She's a footwear designer (obviously... Lol!) with Arabian descents but grew up in Italy. She has the Cliche growing up wearing her mum's shoes tales and had always known her passion lay in that line. Of course she took the plunge and followed her dreams to the end living her life intentionally.
