On The Radar…Footwear Designers

My favorite way to pass time is on any of the Luxury online stores, ogling shoes. I find it very relaxing when I take in the details that come mostly with luxury shoes. And in the past few days, I have come across some absolutely gorgeous foot candy that I have to share with you guys. They are season appropriate, party show stoppers and would set you back more than a few hundred thousands. But if you have worked that hard, can afford them and love your shoes, then they are worth every penny.         The colors that come to mind the most when I think of Christmas are Metallics (Bronze, Gold, Silver, Pewter), Black, Red, Green and Blue. They get me in the Christmas mood and most designers tend to work with that too. This season has seen a lot of amazing designs in these colors and here are some of my favorites.

I remember the days I'd cry when I drive over a piece of paper or plastic, feeling bad that I had crushed it. Same me, in the same breath, would cuss and get in a blind rage just because someone unintentionally spills water on the table. I have been a bundle of erratic emotions, but I am getting better. I believe I am, in the past 4 years, there has been a lot of progress. I feel like I am no longer tied to the past.

I'm a big fan of the Sex And The City Series and that is where my love for shoes and fashion generally started to manifest. Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) literally killed me with every shoe moment. Best part was when Big proposed to her with a pair of Manolo Blahnik 'Hangisi' pumps... *sigh*. The best.

With a wide range of rich and distinct colors, textures and styles, Zara is serving us major shoe envy with their 2018 Fall Collection. Think Metallics, Bright hues, Distinct heels and a combination of textures, your closet is about to be popping with shoes ranging from about 25 pounds (N13,000) to 100 pounds (N50,000) per item.   Whether you're on the low end of the continuum or tending towards the higher side, Zara has fit every budget in view. Oh and the best part is that they have sizes up to a U.K 9 (EUR 43). They remain the go to brand for the  fashionista on a budget.

From Emerald to Olive, Kelly, Lime and Chartreuse, there are many gorgeous shades of Green shoes that will make anyone go green with envy. Green is undoubtedly my favorite color in the world especially for fashion pieces. It's sales season in many retail stores - Luxury and High Street, and with new season collections being released, i want them all in green.

It'd take a long time to get over this fairy tale between Meghan and Harry. Oh and by the way, my choice of Aquazzura didn't make it as her wedding shoes, but we did get a place for the reception party. Now that she is the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan has a whole lot of rules to follow, to keep in line with the monarchy.

In her days of the TV hit series suits, it had always been pointed toe pumps, from Aquazzura to Sarah Flint and a few Louboutin moments. It's just a few hours to the Royal Wedding and i still can't come to a conclusion on who to place bet for Meghan Markle's wedding shoes   It's been tough guessing who'd be designing her wedding shoes. All speculations point towards, Manolo Blahnik, Jimmy ChooSarah Flint and  Aquazzura. I am a big fan of Edgardo Osorio, the founder and designer of Aquazzura and would route for him on this one.

I didn't know Miu Miu was a subsidiary of the brand Prada until i was going to do this post. Miu Miu is an Italian women's clothing and accessory brand, headed by Miuccia Prada. Going through both collections on farfetch, i can now explain the similarity in their designs. I guess it's safe to say that Miu Miu is an embellished, more playful version of Prada.
