How To Achieve Your Shoe Closet Goals Within A Year
Before you sigh and calculate how one year is 365 days, those days go by very fast and before you know it, your goal is well on it’s way to being achieved. So yes, you can set your shoe closet goals and achieve them within a year.
In setting your goals, you need to identify your shoe preferences and then start with stocking up on the basics.
- THRIFT SHOPPING: There are a lot of thrift markets in almost every city and it’s a great way to collect a good number of pairs of shoes at very decent prices, some as low as N1,500 per pair. I find that thrift markets usually have a lot more solid shoes if you have an eye for design and authenticity. You should however be careful not to get too excited. You can find a few tips here and here on how to go about thrift shopping.
- SALES, SALES, SALES: I ALWAYS take advantage of the sales season to indulge in a good number of pairs i may have been eyeing especially online. As a matter of fact, if it’s not on sale and up to 50% off, i’m not buying…lol! The trick is to save a little amount ever so often in a “shoe fund” and indulge as soon as the red flags come up.
- TRADE IN AND EXCHANGES: Find a fellow shoe lover who wears the same size as you and has similar tastes, the deal is to be able to swap shoes with each other. I find that i get bored with some shoes after a while and they’re still in perfect condition. I know i am not alone in this, so that sole sister is a must find. Any size 41 shoe lovers here?
- IMPULSE PURCHASES: You have to be very careful with this one. I have found myself shopping for meat and stopping by a store with a pair of shoes i can’t take my eyes off. 70% of the time i feel like this, i negotiate and make the purchase. BUT, always put into consideration the fact that it must be a good bargain and a pair you’d most likely not find anytime soon. Trust me when i say you find the most random things in a place like the meat market *WINK*
These are ways i have been able to collect shoes, my shoe closet is not where i want it to be yet, but i am slowly but surely getting there. Remember it’s a goal, so you have to take practical and consistent steps to achieve it.
