Christmas Holiday 2017
I always look forward to the Christmas holidays, but in the past 5 years it has been a routine to spend it with my Sis In Law (which is always fun by the way). But with the last one, Le Hubs decided to switch the game and it started with the Rhythm unplugged concert on the 22nd of December. I was mostly excited because #nokids and i have been remotely blessed with reliable help.
I was ready to go and “scatter body” and just enjoy the night.
I didn’t realize the essence of taking proper pictures until i was doing this post. I would most definitely be putting my iphone camera to work effectively from now on. My Forever 21 jumpsuit and Nine West platform sandals were the perfect combination for the night…SUPER COMFORTABLE.
Many of the performances were a hit although some had me screaming in my head… NEXT!!! The build up was in the early hours of the morning from Big Shaq when the whole place went SKKKKRRRRRRRR….. to Tiwa savage and Wizkid, Davido and that was when we had to leave. The pain in my heart when i heard that Olamide came up stage right after we left.
I was still recovering from that night and it was time to go to Eko Hotel and Suites with the fam for the 3 day program organised for the kids. We got there in the afternoon of the 24th of December and went straight to lunch.
The Gods of fun were out for me as WIZKID’s concert was that night in the hotel,Mr O was not game for that, but my friend who also came for the Nickelodeon program was up for it, body, soul and spirit. And so it was, two married women with 3 kids each, left our children and husbands and every iota of shame and home training behind, got our tickets and went for the concert and it was indeed a good show. From start to finish i was on my feet singing along, more like screaming to every hit song he performed.
Then came the other performances by guest artists – Phyno was phenomenal, 2Baba, Olamide, Wande Coal, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Mr eazi and i felt like it’d not end.
Wizkid’s outfit was blinding and his Gucci embroidered crystal knit top was said to cost about $3,700 while his striped Gucci pants cost $990.
There were quite a number of media personalities at both events but i was more about the concerts than famzing with any of them.
There was Arese of the smart money woman, Mo Abudu, Ruth Osime, Cynthia and Ebuka, Lisa Folawiyo a few among those i saw.
Christmas day saw us back to full mummy mode, with the kids in the pool and us eating our hearts out. I met Toyin lawani and it was my chance to get her on the interview for the series In Her Closet which she so gladly obliged me. Look out for it.
The major highlight of the holiday were my new shoes – all 7 of them gifted to me… Vince Camuto, New Look, Call It Spring, Marc Fisher, River Island. Can’t wait to rock each and everyone of them.
How did you spend your christmas holiday, what was the highlight for you and did you have any shoe moments, good or bad? Mine was taking the best decision on my choice of shoes for both concerts, you don’t want to wear uncomfortable shoes when you should be partying like a rockstar.
Peace, Love and More Shoes (Literally)
